From the lyrical evocations of American Impressionism to the everyday realities of the Ashcan Group, from John Singleton Copley to Norman Rockwell, Berry-Hill Galleries specializes in American Art of the 18th, 19th, and early 20th centuries. Directors James and Frederick Hill are part of a distinguished English family whose business of collecting and antiquarian dealership stretches back generations.

The foremost institution of its kind, Berry-Hill regularly organizes exhibitions in their elegant Upper East Side townhouse, just off Fifth Avenue. The gallery’s collection includes Old Master and Modern European paintings as well as a coterie of established and emerging Contemporary artists, representing the works of Robert McCurdy, Dennis Masback and Marsden Hartley among others.

Berry-Hill offers a personal and strictly confidential approach with collectors, museums, decorators and architects. Jennifer M. Brown, Director of Contemporary Art says simply, “we cater to people who love painting in its pure form—at its most classic and enduring.”
