Canton, TX75103

Head down State Highway 19 in Canton, Texas, on the weekend before the first Monday of every month for the First Monday Trade Days, where 7,000 vendors, spread out over 300 acres, sell all kinds of antiques as well as arts and crafts and lots more. The tradition started in the 1850s when the circuit judge came to Canton, 60 miles east of Dallas, on the first Monday of the month, and people came to town to conduct their business. Now, some weekends, which run from Thursday through Sunday, see one million people pass through. There is no admission, but you'll pay $3 for parking. What's in it for Canton? The city charges vendors rental fees so Canton residents pay no property taxes.
