The William Secord Gallery specializes in fine nineteenth and twentieth century dog and animal paintings, works on paper, bronzes and books. The only gallery of its kind in North America, it was established in 1990 by William Secord, a world authority on the topic of nineteenth century dog paintings and author of a number of illustrated books on the subject. The gallery is now a popular destination for those interested in dog art and collectibles.

Located on Manhattan's Upper East Side, this haven for animal lovers presents three exhibitions a year and maintains a large selection of paintings, drawings and original prints. Included are works by nineteenth century luminaries, such as John Emms, Sir Edwin Landseer and Arthur Wardle.

While initially known for its antique dog paintings, the gallery has branched out and now represents the work of three living artists who are modern masters of the genre: Christine Merrill, Constance Payne and Charlotte Sorr'. Examples of these artists' work are always available at the gallery, and commissions may be arranged.
